Devotional Day 3

Believing God is good when life is not.

Wow,  think about that real fast. Your going through troubles but your also believing God is good,  let's be truthful,  it's complicated to believe that.

As we discussed yesterday that trials will happen but Jesus has overcome the trials(John 16:33)

But how can we believe God is good when our life is in pieces? When we are depressed. When it seems like God has left us.

Pastor Craig Groeschel of Life.Church understands.  He wrote a book on this topic called "Hope In The Dark: Believing God is good when life is not".

Groeschel's own daughter Mandy has so much health problems that they have had to visit Mayo Clinic so many times that doctors can't find a cure.

One of Groeschel's friends Adrianne she thought that life was on a mountain but then the devil invaded, her husband cheated on her with one of her close friends,  then her daughter got diagnosed with cancer and later died.

How could Adrianne have Hope after experiencing all that? The truth is that this world says we can't,  but God says we can!

A biblical character that has been through a lot was Habakkuk.

Habakkuk keeps on asking God the difficult questions of life but God always gives an answer.

Just yesterday(06/26/2019) I was speaking to my pastor Hank Sanford about some difficult questions involving Atheism. One of them was if God is an all loving God then why does he let a friend suffer in Atheism? His answer to me.  God doesn't.  You have to understand that God has a better plan.

So how can you have hope in the dark?

You have to believe that God has a better plan and I tell you the truth,  God does have a better plan for you.

Adrianne found a new husband and this one is loving.

Mandy is continuing medical treatment but though it may seem like there is no end,  God's writing a symphony out of her pain.

PRAYER: God, I pray that you let me have Hope that you will make a better plan for me. Lord, I ask that you take control.  Amen.

SCRIPTURE: Habakkuk 1-3

REFLECTION QUESTIONS:
1) Describe a time where you prayed to God for hope in the dark.
2) How can you be like Habakkuk and believe even though the lights are out God will make a way?
