Devotional Day 6

To love God,  you also have to love people.

Wow,  that is such a strong statement.  And believe it or not,  it's true!

BUT here's the catch,  this is contradictory since in the bible it states to "Love the lord your God with all your heart,  with all your soul and with all your mind"

But guess what,  right after that it reads "The second great command is just like this,  love your neighbor as yourself"

Pastor, so I have to love the people across the street from me??

Yes and No, the word "neighbor" in this context means to love everyone.

So what is it REALLY saying?

It's saying to love everyone. 

Yes,  there may be people you absolutely despise in your area,  but God says to love everyone. 

Your challenge today is to love everyone no matter what.  Show them the love of God(Believe it or not,  the number one reason of why Atheists come to Christ is because of the love that they see).

PRAYER:

God you are good,  I just pray that you help me love everyone no matter the situation.  Amen.

1) How can we love everyone?
2) Describe a time when you wanted to love someone but you chose not to.  Why?

This will be a fun story to tell. For the longest time when I was a kid me and my grandmother went to a Assemblies of God church which is known for the Prosperity Gospel. My grandmother put so much money into the church and she didn't know what this pastor was actually doing with the money. This pastor was spending the money on gambling. He claimed to his church members that the church would close. Turns out it eventually did due to loss of funds. My grandmother went into bankrupt because of this church. That is not all. "One Thing Remains" by Bethel Music expresses the One Thing that has never changed over the ages and that thing is Jesus' love. The verse of the song goes: " higher than the mountains that I face stronger than the power of the grave constant in the trial and the change This one thing remains This one thing remains" Whatever we are going through Jesus will always be there. He is constant in the trial and the change, only One Thing Remains. Song Opinion: "Reckless Love" by Cory Asbury

"Reckless Love" by Cory Asbury reflects a love that is reckless. If you look closely at the word Reckless it comes out as " characterized by or proceeding from such carelessness:" But was God actually Reckless? It depends on how YOU define Reckless. If you look at the bible believe it or not Jesus was Reckless. If we look at the story whenever Jesus was in the temple and he supposedly flipped over many tables. He was reckless in that story. But he only flipped over 1 table because to be truthful if he flipped over many wouldn't he get kicked out of the temple.  But what was on that table, you ask?
